Your guide to a smooth vehicle handover

Customer Information

Firstly may we thank you for purchasing your vehicle from us here at Anthony Betts. So that the collection of your new car may go as smoothly as possible, we have detailed below several things that have to be covered prior to taking delivery.

Vehicle Taxing
If you have just purchased a brand new vehicle then we will of course ensure this vehicle is taxed prior to you taking delivery. If you have purchased an Approved Used vehicle then you have the responsibility of ensuring the vehicle is taxed prior to it being driven on a public highway. This process can be easily completed online and can be done in advance or we are happy to help you complete this during your handover. Click here to see the road tax rates.

Vehicle Insurance
We appreciate that you may have been surfing the internet trying to find the best insurance quote for your vehicle and acknowledge that this can sometimes take some time. In an attempt to take the stress away from rushing this, we can offer you a complimentary 24 hour Free Insurance through Suzuki Insurance, allowing you plenty of time to find the right insurance for you. This applies to all makes of cars and on Suzuki's you can extend it to 5 days. Click here for further details.

To take up this offer, simply ask your sales advisor who will arrange it for you. They usually provide you with an insurance quote at the same time as confirming the free insurance, but don't worry, this does not mean you have to use them for your insurance, the decision is yours.

Part Exchanging a Vehicle?

Should we be taking your present vehicle in part exchange we require the following detail either before or on delivery:

- Part exchange registration document (if this document is unavailable this may delay delivery, please advise us immediately)
- Current M.O.T. certificate.
- All service history and service invoices (where possible) and handbooks.
- All relevant keys for the vehicle including radio I Immobiliser code if applicable.

If your part exchange has finance outstanding, then we will need a up to date settlement letter from your finance company so we can settle the finance for you.

It is also important to advise that whilst we will have given you a price for your vehicle, this may be subject to change depending on the condition/mileage when it is handed over to us. However in absolute transparency with you, we will carry out another full appraisal of the vehicle on the day of handover and will keep you fully aware of if there are any changes in the vehicle valuation, as well as the reasons why.

Financing your New/Approved Used Vehicle

If we have arranged finance on your behalf, we will require at all times, a signed valid Driving licence, in your current address. Should this not be available then please let us know immediately and we will discuss the alternative proofs that will be required.
Finance Documents must be signed prior to collection in order to facilitate clearance via the finance company. The easiest way to do this is electronically online and your sales advisor will explain this. If for any reason this isn't possible you may be required to visit the showrooms to manually sign the documentation prior to collection.

Vehicle Payments

Our company policy regarding payment for your vehicle is as follows:

Bank Transfer - This is our preferred payment method, the day before you collect your new vehicle to ensure the funds show as cleared in our bank account. When transferring money, please make sure you use your new cars registration number as the payment reference.

Our bank details are: Anthony Betts & Company Ltd - Sort code: 30-94-28 - Account number: 03171411

Please note that BACS electronic transfer requires 4 working days and CHAPS payments are normally chargeable so please ensure your payment is made by the faster payment method which is normally both free and faster.

Debit Card - All card payments must be Chip & Pin supported up to a maximum of £1000. Any payment above this amount will have to be made by bank transfer.

Cash - If you choose to pay using cash, due to money laundering legislation, we only take a maximum of £1000 in any one transaction. Any payment above this amount will have to be made by bank transfer.

Please note we DO NOT accept personal cheques, bankers drafts, building society cheques and credit cards.

Please click on the link below and read our terms and conditions of sale. You will see from these that any additional accessories, rectification work and anything else agreed must be clearly noted on the order form, this elevates any misunderstanding during the handover process. Please check your order form carefully to ensure your sales advisor has noted everything.

We hope all of this information helps, but if you think of any questions that we haven't covered, then please give us a call. Thanking you in advance for your co-operation.
