Government Scrappage Scheme Extended to End of March 2010

The government has announced an extension to the Scrappage Scheme which involved the provision of an additional £100 million of government support. In addition they announced the following changes with effect from the 22nd October 2009.

• Passenger cars first registered in the UK on or before the 29th February 2000 are now eligible.
• Light Commercial Vehicles (LCV) not exceeding 3.5 tonnes first registered on or before the 28th February 2002 are eligible.
• The scheme will now run until the end of March 2010. The Government have confirmed this date as the last date that an order can be placed under the scheme and delivery of the vehicle must occur by the 30th June 2010
